Dear Esteemed CMG Community,
We hope you and your loved ones are well. These past 6 months have been extraordinarily difficult as we were forced to deal with a global pandemic, racial and political unrest/upheaval, and the gutting of our music industry through both AB-5 and COVID-19.
In the wake of all of this, we have been reevaluating the sustainability of CMG Music Recording in the future market. Additionally, we have been experiencing some issues for which we cannot reach a resolution in order to continue to move forward. Therefore, we have decided to dissolve the company and will no longer be accepting new projects as CMG Music Recording.
We are extremely proud of the work CMG accomplished in a very short time. We provided exceptional musicians, sound engineers, orchestrators, copyists, conductors, score readers, and composers for a wide variety of projects, many of which were very high profile. We worked hard to bring work to our music colleagues, iconic recording studios, sound stages, and concert venues while keeping the work here in Los Angeles. Additionally, through careful planning and negotiation, quite a few of our projects were successfully recorded here in town instead of overseas. We are really proud of that. We could not have done it without you! Our superpower has always been our incredible community of music professionals. Thank you for your immense support in the past, for watching and helping us grow, and for supporting us during this difficult time as well.

The private database of musicians and music professionals will be taken offline in order to protect your personal information. However, both Karen and Jennifer would like to continue to consider you for outside future projects. You do not need to contact us unless you wish to be removed from the list. Should you wish to be removed, please contact both Karen and Jennifer so we can make the changes on our end.
Please feel free to reach out to us via the following email addresses with questions, concerns, or if you would like help with future projects:
We will continue to keep you updated if anything changes. We truly hope that all of you continue to remain healthy and safe and that you are able to quickly transition back into the workplace once restrictions are lifted. We wish you much-continued success and hope to see you soon!
With greatest respect and gratitude,
Karen and Jennifer
